There is no position you can go to in Golden Bay to find a skyline even remotely resembling that drawn in the Witsen image, and there is most certainly no skyline like that between Tasman’s position at anchor and any location closer to shore.
This is not surprising since the background in this engraving is a fiction added in a later re-drawing of the original sketch.
